Every Giraffe Has Its Own Unique Pattern

As you may remember from previous instalments, I have received some feedback from my recent placements regarding my communication and interaction skills. I have now spoken to a professional who strongly suspects that there is something unusual about me, in particular unusual eye contact, speech, facial expressions and ways of answering questions some of which was news to me and some that I had heard before.

Some of you who may know about these things will know there is a special name that you can give this and although I won’t deny that I have it, I want to view it on a day-to-day basis as a difference in how my brain works and my unique ‘quirks’ and that we all have our little quirks that make us weird in our own special way!

Having these observations brought up to me over the past couple of months has made me fear that they have been misinterpreted by those around me particularly out with placement settings as lack of interest. However, I am also feeling more at peace now as I have wondered for a long time now if there was something different about me which was slightly more than just my shyness. I am still to consider what this may mean for my future endeavours but I’m still hoping that that thing that I’m meant to do will become obvious to me in the not too distant future.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. As always, feel free to get in touch with any questions/feedback/thoughts, I always love to it. Stay tuned for the next instalment.

Until next time
