How to Share Your Problems Like a Giraffe

Although, it might seem hard to believe that I’m saying this but there have been some positive outcomes from the events in recent months. As I have mentioned before, I have found out new things about myself and it has given me time to think but most interestingly, it has given me an insight into what I want to do with my life. I have had an interest to pursue a career in mental health for a while but because of what I have had to go through, my interest in it has increased even more. What I have taken a particular interest in is how the sharing of stories can help, not just individuals but society in general. I feel that there is more that could be done for the understanding of how mental health conditions affect individuals personally. As with any illness, both physical and mental, everyone can affected in a unique way. I feel that what could make society more mental health friendly is people feeling encouraged to share their stories in whatever way is most comfortable for them, to give those around them a better insight into ways that they could help to make that person’s life better. This is an idea that I would like to research and develop more.

This therefore where I would like your help. I have put together a short questionnaire asking you about how you find telling people about your mental health problems, so if you have the time to fill that in, that would be great. There are no questions that would make you very identifiable to me and the responses will be anonymous.
