My Favourite Worship Songs

My mood and general wellbeing has been quite up and down for the last couple of weeks. Just before things started to change again and I didn’t really feel up to posting anything, my sister ‘challenged’ me to share my favourite worship songs over a week. Even though, it is a few weeks late, I still thought some reflection on this would be beneficial so here is the other five that I haven’t talked about already.

Battles – The Afters

I have been in quite an intense battle with fear over the past few days. My lockdown anxiety reached a peak and I didn’t feel much in control. I am recovering now and looking into ways to manage my anxiety levels long term but this song has given me encouragement that God is on my side in all of this.

Flawless – MercyMe

I have some insecurities about myself which I don’t tend to focus on individually but altogether, I can feel less worthy at times. What this song reminds me of is that what Jesus did on the cross to make us worthy in God’s eyes and how God made me, in his image and with that, perfect.

His Mercy is More – Shane & Shane

I can be quite hard on myself, beating myself over even some of my smallest mistakes. What this song reminds me of how God has given us the freedom to learn from our mistakes and continues to forgive us, day after day.

You Make Me Brave – Bethel Music

This song reminds me of how thankful I should be to God for giving me the courage and strength to take on new challenges and get through some really difficult times.

Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies) – Chris Tomlin

This song helps to remind me that even though God is the all-mighty and powerful creator of everything, he is still our loving Father who is always there for us.

You Say – Lauren Daigle

Like the song talks about, I often have to fight things which make me think I am not enough. But this song gives me the motivation in my worst times, when I am feeling at my lowest, that God’s love never changes.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you found what I shared insightful. As always, feel free to get in touch with any questions/feedback/comments, I always love to hear it. Stay tuned for the next instalment.

Until next time

Kathryn
