I wanted to write about this as we go into another lockdown but this is an attitude I have tried to have throughout the numerous other lockdowns we have had this year as well as in general life.
I sometimes get the sense that being positive and realistic are not always put together. However, I think they can. Positivity doesn’t need to ignore reality, but highlight the good things that ARE still happening alongside negatives and doesn’t jump to negative conclusions without any evidence.
That is what this blog was based on. Giraffes aren’t able to make much noise (which some may see as a negative thing!) but they have a unique, long neck to make them special and stand out from other animals.
Throughout lockdowns, I have tried not to focus on what I am not able to do but make the most of the things that we are still allowed to do. Even if that list for a lot of people is just staying at home, going to a selected few shops and seeing limited numbers of people outside at the moment. Of course, no one knows how things will progress over the next wee while. However, with things changing all the time and nothing confirmed after this current lockdown about what restrictions there will be or how many cases we will have, I only really find it helpful not speculate too much.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you find it helpful. As always, feel free to get in touch with any questions/feedback/comments, I always love to hear it. Stay tuned for the next instalment.
Until next time
