To help you reflect on when your worries and burdens really become too much. Will it be sooner or later than you expected?
Step 1
Find a bottle/container that you think represents your comfort zone.
Step 2
Over time, write down your burdens on bits of paper (try to adjust the size of the writing to size of the problem) and place them in the bottle/container. If you don’t have access to pen and paper or your bottle, write down these worries in your phone and add them later on.
Step 3
As you add your burdens, notice how quickly your size of bottle is filled up and how you’re feeling with the number that is in there.
Step 4
When the time comes when you need to “empty your bottle”, share your burdens with someone who trust. Was this sooner or later than you expected? Consider the size of bottle that you will need the next time.
Step 5
Over time, it should hopefully be a learning process and you may not need the bottle as an indication of when you are carrying too on your mind to cope with on your own.
