An Energetic And Static Giraffe

This is a much later post than I expected it to be. I just haven’t had really found the time to sit down and concentrate on writing in the past few months. This may be a subject that I have touched on before but I wanted to talk about it more in this post.

Anxiety can be shown in different ways. The two I wanted to look at in this post are the ‘energetic’ kind, and the ‘static’ kind. For me, the most likely one of these that I can relate to is ‘static’ anxiety. What I mean by this is that from the outside, everything seems normal. However, the use of mental energy is not always visible and lots of things can be going on in my head with negative thoughts and memories trying to be combated by positive thoughts and memories, which can be exhausting. When I am in this state, I can fear that taking action can make the feelings worse or perhaps fear having to try and explain these thoughts going on my head when I am not ready to.

On the other hand though, when I am feeling trapped by these negative thoughts and it’s too much to handle at once, I may need to get out of my environment or perhaps channel this anxious energy into something productive to bring on the positive thoughts. For example, I can spend a long time walking around perhaps deciding to skip public transport home.

In summary, anxiety can have different effects on our physical stamina, which can depend on the severity of it and what else is happening around us. So there is not one way to appear anxious but it’s important to look out for those little clues.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you find it helpful. As before, feel free to get in touch with any questions/feedback/comments, I always love to hear them. Stay tuned for the next instalment.

Until next time
