I haven’t been able to write again as soon or as frequently as I thought I would. Mostly because work being unpredictable in the sense of what energy levels I’ll have. I am currently aiming to produce the next part to go along with the last instalment but I would like to focus on the personal rather than the theoretical part of my mental health at the moment.
I have had an overall good summer with short trips away around the UK and looking forward to my first trip abroad since 2019 in a few weeks…. I have also been enjoying sharing my baking with people and from what I have been told, those on the receiving end aren’t complaining!
I am currently back doing a block of counselling through the NHS to remind myself of what I have covered before. I’ve only had one video session with a therapist so far but think this will be beneficial for where I am at the moment. I was doing an online course on my own that I was referred to by my GP but I found it to have the motivation without set times to review things and having someone there to support you while working through heavy things like my emotions and feelings.
I am trying to keep myself healthy as well, balancing my time and work time. Also giving myself as equal importance as the people I work with too (I’m sure I have touched on bits of this in previous instalments as well as more to come).
Although it comes and goes naturally, I have seen a difference in my confidence both in my work and in my life outside of work. I’m hoping that the counselling that I’m doing can keep this going.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you find it helpful. As always, feel free to get in touch with me with any questions/feedback/comments, I always love to hear it. Stay tuned for the next instalment where I might get back on track with the original plan.
Until next time
K
